Jakob's 2nd Birthday

For the party favors, she made really cute flannel bags tied with a ribbon and a small tag I made for the occasion. The really young kids got a Sesame Street CD and some toddler-friendly snacks and the older kids got the typical party candy. Since most people at the party didn’t actually have kids, she gave the adults two large cookies in a glassine bag and sealed it with a sticker I had made for her. Jakob couldn’t care less about the food, gifts, or the guests since he acted shy most of the time, even with his future girlfriend Mia around. But by the time most people left, he was having a ball playing with his Thomas the Train toys (Thomas? Who knew? What happened to Elmo?). Hopefully he had fun, although I doubt he’ll ever have any recollection of the event. My brother-in-law told Julie that it wasn’t Jakob’s party, it was Julie and DeeDee’s party. Duh! What’s the point of having kids around if you can’t throw overdone birthday parties for kids who couldn’t care less?
